Hello, my name is Zach. I live in Camden, Maine. I currently attend the Mid-Coast School of Technology, programming in the design technology class. My passions are in the technical and front facing sides of web and app development. I have won gold and bronze at the states level for programming, with gold and silver for locals.
This website was developed in collaboration with Javon LeFort and James Mayo for the Maine chapter of SkillsUSA. Additionally, made as part of an educational web design project.
This website was a client project done for a personal business selling pottery. The majority of the visual elements on the site had to be creatively constructed to work around the restrictions of the cheapest wordpress.com plan. It was quite difficult to work with such limited resources, but I was nevertheless able to make a visually interesting website using illustrator to create the various elements.
This video game and all of its assets were created by me as a second video game project. A lot of RnD was done to create a completely custom movement system for flying through space around asteroids. I’m personally quite proud of the problem solving that was used to create a functional play experience of complex three dimensional movement.
This videogame was created as a project focused on reducing scope through building a game in the style of old Atari games. The game focused on defending the town bank against hordes of bandits. This was one of the first large scale projects I led, with the help of James Mayo, Aleshia Corlis-Alicea, Drew Swindler, Javon LeFort, and Talon Grotton.
I made this to display around school TVs as a visually appealing schedule for the different programs that would play over the school radio. I chose this project as a way to expand my experience in media based work, to complement my capabilities with website design and programming.
I created this for a project focused around showing the visual and technical abilities of different typefaces in the form of a poster. This project involved a lot of research on typefaces and learning about the use of InDesign. I decided to go with a layered cutout effect with the use of outlines and shadows, to highlight its use before digital fonts
This videogame was the first thing I ever programmed, a big personal milestone. It involves multiple branching paths and narratives. I had a lot of fun learning the fundamental concepts of programming while making this game, it really ignited my passion for coding.
I built this as a first project in my design technology class at the Mid-Coast School of Technology. I really wanted to to highlight a connection between digital technologies and the natural world, two things I have a great interest in. The idea of the project was to create a wallpaper that highlights who you are as a person. Years later I am still quite proud of the concept as a whole, though I have much more experience with visual design now.
